"All is well. You did not come here to fix a broken world. The world is not broken. You came here to live a wonderful life. And if you can learn to relax a little and let it all in, you will begin to see the universe present you with all that you have asked for." - AbrahamThe Law of Attraction CDs
What Is The Law of Attraction?
"...all things, wanted and unwanted, are brought to you by this most powerful Law of the Universe: the Law of Attraction (that which is like unto itself is drawn)." -Abraham, as channeled by Esther Hicks.
How Can The Law of Attraction Assist Me?
The simplest answer is to give your attention only to those things that you want to experience, knowing that what you give your attention to, you become "one" with and therefore will attract into your experience. For example, if you want a new house, you would keep your attention on those aspects of a new house that you want to manifest, such as noticing designs that you like, finding pictures in magazines of decorative styles that please you, being grateful for the things you appreciate about your current home, etc. There are advocates of using/repeating affirmations, e.g. "I now live in a beautiful 3000 square foot house with granite counters in the kitchen, and a swimming pool, and etc." There are some people who state that if you affirm this to yourself often enough, in enough detail (really putting yourself in the "dream" and visualizing) it will come to pass.
And, in truth, all affirmations do work because of the Law of Attraction...except that we often aren't aware of what we're affirming. We are so accustomed to our thoughts and they are so familiar that we don't even think to question them. They seem like a "given" in our life. For example, your parents may have instilled in you (through their repeated "affirmation" of their words and deeds) that there isn't enough. They themselves may have been raised in a poor family during the depression or a war. Their experience was one of shortage and struggle and lack. They maintained that belief system throughout their lives because it never occured to them that it could be different. So, you in turn, took that same habit on. Even though you may never have had those terrible experiences for yourself, it seems true, and you act as if it's true because you never questioned it. So you perhaps feel this need to hoard things, save for a rainy day, or to only buy things on sale, or to clean your plate whether you're full or not. And then you may end up in a relationship with someone who doesn't think or behave this way, and you feel so uncomfortable with their spending habits, or housekeeping style, or eating, or... that you think you need to separate. You may actually experience "the worst thing you can imagine", like losing your job and going broke, which further seems to validate that belief that there's not enough. But is there truly not enough, or did your persistence and perpetuation of that belief bring it to pass?
The more practical and useful answer for how to apply the Law of Attraction in your life, is to recognize that the real key lies in knowing yourself. When you are saying that you want the new house, but what you have is the dumpy cramped old one (and especially if you're feeling defeated or frustrated where you are), then you can know that you are probably affirming something other than what you think. Gary Craig, the Founder of EFT, calls these actual affirmations the "tail enders." For example, in the new house scenario above, you may be stating "I now live in a beautiful house with a pool, etc." but you're actually vibrationally/energetically affirming at the same time, "No I don't" or "I could never afford that." or "Yeah, but my credit is terrible, I'll never get the loan.", etc. We at InsightfulWay call those the "Yeah, buts."
In addition to the Yeah buts, you're probably also giving more attention to what you don't want than to what you do want...noticing and/or complaining about how cramped or unpleasant your current house feels, telling friends about the financial struggle that your life is, etc. Both the Yeah Buts (limiting beliefs/habits of thought) and the time spent focusing on things other than what you want, will keep you from manifesting even your most passionate and well intentioned affirmations, because nothing is stronger than the Law of Attraction...that which is like unto itself is drawn. So your real work lies in noticing and accepting where you are (a cramped house and poor credit - that's your current vibration) and shifting your vibration (through new habits of thought/beliefs) to where you want to be (new beautiful big house).
While this is quite straightforward, like anything new, when we haven't practiced it intentionally very much, it seems awkward or impossible. You can make it easy for yourself...give us a call...we'd be happy to help you work toward your goals...
The following video is a wonderful example from Abraham of how to shift your vibration...
